Easter (RUINED) Again


Sunday was Orthodox Easter.  I am not orthodox, but I recognize and respect those that do.  Sunday, April 12th is the holiest of days for those who celebrate. I hope those that do/did had a very Happy Easter.  Because that's what you SHOULD do on a holiday.  Wish those who celebrate it well.  Doesn't matter if you do or not.  You should what a rational human being would do and with them a happy, blessed or anything along those lines, holiday

So why should I be surprised that the "leader" of what was once the free world had to ruin it with social media posts denigrating the Pope.  (I'm not a Catholic, but I respect the man who currently the Pope as it appears to me with his words and actions that he is following what Christ taught.)  The Pope responded that he had “no fear of the Trump administration, or speaking out loudly of the message of the Gospel, which is what I believe I am here to do.”  (Maybe he should have some fear?  Again, I'm not a Catholic, but I wouldn't want to see him harmed or dead and buried on a golf course in NJ.)

Then he posted an AI image where he appears as Christ (or a Christ like figure). On the later, I thought it had to be some sort of pathetic joke.  But it wasn't (it isn't). You can look it up for yourself if you don't believe me.  (I don't want to believe me.)  Or you just take the description from the NY Times:  "In the image posted on Sunday, the man in the bed is surrounded by figures looking up at Mr. Trump, including a person in a medical uniform with a stethoscope around their neck, a praying woman and a man in a camouflage uniform. The background of the image includes the Statue of Liberty, a building resembling the Lincoln Memorial, fighter jets, eagles, fireworks and a billowing American flag."  If that doesn't make you go WTF, I don't know what will.

So what can be said about this that hasn't already been said hundreds of times?  Impeach?  Invoke the 25th?  DO SOMETHING!  

So I have nothing new to say.  However, this modified/paraphrased earworm has been buzzing around my head since I read all of the (crazy) above.  With apologies to Tim Rice (and Andrew Lloyd Webber too):

Christ! He's sold out the nation
He has been saddled with the murder of men
He has been spattered with innocent blood
He should be dragged through the slime and the mud
He has been spattered with innocent blood
He shall be dragged through the slime and the slime and the slime and the mud!

He scares me so


And he DOES scare me...His rhetoric should scare us all.  Action needs to be taken if we want to return to the UNITED States of America, with Liberty and Justice for ALL.

  Today my husband is getting his Covid-19 vaccine.  He has been waiting for this day for a LONG time.  (Haven't we all?)  He fits the current age requirement (currently 55+ in NJ) and has underlying conditions that make him eligible (high blood pressure and diabetes.)  He's understandably nervous, anxious and excited all at the same time. I know I will feel the same way when it is my turn.  I am still under 55 (at least for another 2 months).  Although I still take blood pressure medication, my dosage is extremely low and I only take it every other day.  (This is with the doctor's approval; and when I next go for a physical I may ask if it is still necessary.  I was much heavier when I started this regime.)  I do not know my BMI and it may or may not meet the current BMI ≥ 25 kg/m2 requirement. We Have Taken America Back

Back to a time when all men (and women) are not created equal.  Where women's healthcare is determined by men's laws and not by medical professionals. Where education tells only the "winning" side of the story and truth does not matter.  Where banning and burning books is a social event.  Where people who are "different" than those in power can be mocked, shunned and hurt with no real consequences. Where lies are acceptable and integrity is  just a word on a page We have moved into a time where rage is the rage.  Where hate is not just normal, but accepted and even cheered. Where leaders can ask to have their "enemies" killed and no one will bat an eye.  Where it's "funny" to see someone struggle.  Where felony is applauded. (Almost) Fully Furnished: Life at Bfth's Pocono Perfection.

 Friday morning the final (for now) furniture delivery arrived at our home.  We now have a dining room table and chairs, as well as a smaller table and 2 chairs for the "breakfast nook."  While we still need to put some finishing touches on the house (artwork needs to go on the walls,  may need a chair in the primary bedroom, and other decorative items), at this point our house is pretty much finished and where we envisioned it. So welcome to Bfth's Pocono Perfection! Pull on up and come on in. Look out from the front porch area and take in the colors on autumn. In the foyer/entryway you there is a small "tribute" to my parents and their love of the NJ shore.  There is another area by the front bay window that honors them.  (Foster's Famous Crab Stick lives on!)
