Fourth Sunday in Lent: Reflections of Love

The lectionary readings for the week are:  Numbers 21:4-9, Psalm 107:1-3, 17-22, Ephesians 2:1-10, John 3:14-21.

"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.  For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him."

The above verse (part of this week's lectionary) I feel is at the core of Lent.  God SO LOVED the world that he GAVE...

Love and giving are at the heart of Christianity.  While we often "give up" during the Lenten season, how can we give love or give to show our love? Perhaps this is the week that we can focus on giving love; to our friends, neighbors and even those we might consider to be our enemies.  We know that love is powerful.  Love can and does change things beyond our understanding.

Focus on loving the world (as only you can) this week and see what a difference you CAN make.
