A Simple Question
This has been a not so
simple week. There's so much chaos and anger in the world, it's
maddening, frustrating and heartbreaking all at the same time. The world
seems to be spiraling out of control and I don't want to minimize all the terrible
things that are going on around. However, the constant noise is making me
sick. I don't need any more anxiety. I don't think you do
either. Being overwhelmed by the state of affairs is not helpful.
So while ignoring the news should not be an option (we NEED to be aware of what
is going on from reliable sources...I am NOT one of those sources), I'm trying
to stay as upbeat as I can. (Even while I can smell the smoke from the
dumpster fires.) To that end, I'm looking for an answer to what I HOPE is a
simple question.
This question is probably best
answered by a specific group of people and/or friends. I think (and I
could be wrong) that my Pennsylvania peeps would be my best resource, but I
don't want to limit anyone, so feel free to chime in if you think you can
"help." All (positive) answers are welcome here.
Before I ask what I consider to be a Pennsylvania-centric question, let me give you some personal background. While I grew up and lived in New Jersey for most of my life, I went to college in Pennsylvania. So for 4 years I got some insight into many things Pennsylvanian. I've also spent vacation time in the state, specifically the Poconos, where I currently am writing this tome. I am by no means an "expert" on all things Pennsylvania, but I'd like to think I'm (slightly) above average.
I've been spending a good deal of time in my corner of the Poconos since we purchased a home here at the end of the summer. (I'm not out of NJ though...I love NJ and PA...it CAN be done.) As we did (do) in NJ, on a weekly basis my husband and I go grocery shopping. We're still dedicated to ShopRite, although we sometimes head to Weis (which is a further distance, but they have a nice produce section) or go to our (very) local grocery where we can pick up items that we might have missed and get a physical copy of the NY Times. We have our "regular" staples which bring us down the dairy/breakfast aisle. While we avoid the eggs (not due to price, but my allergy), we almost always pick up Taylor Pork Roll (don't argue about what to call it; it's in the name!) and in the same general area is this:
