Not Another Postal Service Rant...

Yes, I bitch about the postal service.  I seem to bitch about it a lot.  But I don't think I'm a bitch.  Or at least I TRY not to be.  Or try not to be most of the time?  I TRY to act with grace.  (As a matter of fact I think I did that just this morning when I got a rather negative email from someone I hardly know about something that I didn't consider that important, but clearly he did.   It upset me.  On the other hand, I COULD see his point...sort of.  So I responded with grace.  I acknowledged his concern and said I would do my best to do as he asked IF he would be able to provide me with what I needed in order to do so.  Ball's in his court now...I hope I was as "graceful" as I should have been.)

Having said that...here I am bitching again...but it's not necessarily about the post office.  It sort of is, but...

Let me backtrack...I recently ordered some sweaters from BloomChic.  I had ordered two skirts from them before last year and I liked them.  I didn't recall any issues, but now that I'm writing about this...well maybe I did?  (You know how you get that inkling in the back of your mind?  Maybe this DID happen before?)  Since I had previous experience with the company and was happy with my purchase, why not re-order?

As I write this, I have yet to receive my package.  I placed my order on September 4th and received notification that my order had been received and that it was expected to arrive in my mailbox on the 12th.  What I DIDN'T look at closely (and this is MY error) is what the email said after that...

If we tally up the days, there is no way it would be in my mailbox by the 12th.  (Unless the shipping Gods looked down on me and blessed me...they didn't!)  And if I read more thoroughly, I would have seen that this was being shipped with other items to the U.S. warehouse, meaning unlike many other on line vendors I purchase from, they are NOT in the U.S.  IF I had done  my homework (and this is on me), I would have known that although they have an office in California, they are headquartered and ship from China.  Proof again that you need to do your homework!

Okay, the sweaters have shipped.  Let's take a look at the tracking, shall we?  (Remember to read from the bottom up):

So...we can see that things ARE progressing, but we don't know where.  It went from an overseas warehouse, but we don't know where.  (I think we can guess somewhere in China).  Then it departs for the U.S and arrives at "origin facility."  Where is that?  Where (what) is the sort facility?  Where is the "local" warehouse?  (Local to who?).  Finally, it's made it to the "regional" destination facility.  Regional to what?  Is it in PA?  Is it on the East Coast?  Who knows?  The tracking info is as clear as mud!

Someone needs to do better when it comes to the tracking information.  I don't think its USPS.  I don't know if it's BloomChic.  But the customer needs a clearer picture.  And this is a downright lie:
Or maybe just extremely wishful thinking?

Fingers crossed that the package will show up in my mailbox this week.  Sweater weather season is here and I'm ready to put on a new one!
