Outraged?
People are outraged that
the current president posted a racist video which depicted a former president
and his wife as dancing apes. I am outraged too, but it's no surprise and
I've been outraged for years.
I am outraged that the current
president (BEFORE he was president) said he could grab women by the pussy. (The
actual quote, "Grab them by the pussy. You can do anything.")
I am outraged that the current
president (again, before he was president) said, ”I could stand in the middle
of Fifth Avenue and shoot somebody, and I wouldn't lose any voters,
OK?" (How is that okay for ANYONE to say? ANYONE?)
I am outraged that the current
president has called women reporters stupid, obnoxious, piggy and a whole slew
of other sexist, mean and degrading things.
I am outraged at how the
current president and his administration has treated immigrants, especially
children. How it's seemingly "okay" to arrest, hurt or kill
someone who is peacefully protesting and documenting this treatment. Accountability? What's that?
I am outraged that the current
president doesn't seem to care if you are a US citizen and wants you
deported.
I am outraged that the current
president continually lies and says whatever the hell he wants. (Which I
suppose goes back to my first point.)
I am just outraged...
I am just sick...
And I am NOT better off then I
was 4 years ago.
Because my wallet tells me that
groceries prices are much higher. (Egg prices may be lower, but since I'm
allergic, I can't tell.)
Because my insurance premiums
have gone up. (And I'm lucky to be able to pay them...even though it
hurts.)
Because of this president's
rhetoric, this country (and this world) is NOT a safer place.
Because the war in the Ukraine
is not over like he promised. (Not that I believe it for a moment, but still)
Because instead of caring for
the people of this country (and I mean ALL people), he tries to hold states
"hostage" for his own personal gain or ego boost. (Specifically
the Hudson River tunnel project: https://www.nytimes.com/2026/02/06/nyregion/gateway-tunnel-project-funding-trump.html )
I'm sick and outraged over the
destruction.
I'm sick over the pettiness.
I'm sick.
This whole country is suffering
while the current president and his administration turns a blind eye. Or
maybe not; maybe they like to see suffering?
Maybe I should be punished for
writing this? I thought I had (we had) rights under the
Constitution, but since the current president and his administration doesn't
seem to care, maybe I don't. It's highly likely that I'll get nasty
comments and bullied. Because that's what seems to be the norm
today. To yell and call people names. Be mean; compassion is out of
style. Call yourself a Christian, but don't follow the teachings of
Christ. After all, he was a man of color.
Or, more likely, maybe no one
will say anything. Maybe no one will read this. But I still had to
write it. I still needed to get this out. And I will continue to do
so; for my own peace of mind.
I want peace of mind. I
had it before. I had it under Democratic leadership. I had it under
Republican leadership. I sure don't have it now. And I know I'm not
alone.
We, who are outraged by all of
this are not alone. Continue to be outraged. Continue to
speak. Continue to document. Continue...
I'm totally with you on this. I am just horrified that half the government ignores the completely unconstitutional things he does every damn day. Trying to blackmail NY and NJ into naming stuff after him just to get money that had ALREADY BEEN appropriated is so over-the-top and yet no Republican says a darn thing about it? Everything he does is like this and they treat it as if it's normal. I just can't anymore!
